Look Into My Eyes !
This shot was taken this morning at about 6.00 am , a great time to go and find insects to photograph as they are still in a state of torpor from the cold of the night . I've been after this composition for some time and this morning I was rewarded for my perseverance . Using my Nikon fitted to my tripod I was able to take this shot focusing critically on the eyes as this beautiful southern damselfly was still cold , I could even guide it round the leaf using my hand to pass into its field of view so it would move into the correct position to get a nice symmetrical composition without it flying off ! . An hour later and this shot would not be possible as the temperature rises and off it flies around the banks of the river Itchen in Hampshire.
