Milky Way from Lupine Meadows
Shot from the Lupine Meadows Trail head looking North towards Yellowstone. The orange glow on the horizon are the "Bear Cub" and "North Buffalo" forest fires. The green above that is the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights, and then the Milky Way.
I was fortunate to have a car leave the parking lot as I was taking this and their headlights swept over the tree tops to do a little light painting for me.
Updating the information about the fires shown in the photo, both are now considered inactive. The "Bear Cub fire burned approx. 6,500 acres and the "North Buffalo" burned approx. 28,000 acres. Both were on National forest land and as far as I can find out no structures were lost to either fire.
