CAMOGLI.
Sono numerose le ipotesi sull'etimologia del nome: dal genovese "Cà a muggi" (case a mucchi) per le caratteristiche costruzioni color pastello addossate le une alle altre; da “Cà de mogee” (casa delle mogli) essendo i
loro uomini marinai ed impegnati in lunghe navigazioni.
Erano questi in prevalenza pescatori, prima di diventare naviganti per necessità a servizio della flotta genovese e poi autonomamente, come armatori.

There are numerous hypotheses on the etymology of the name: from the Genoese "Cà a muggi" (houses in piles) for the characteristic pastel-colored buildings leaning against each other; from "Cà de mogee" (house of the wives) since
their men were sailors and engaged in long voyages.
These were mainly fishermen, before becoming sailors out of necessity in the service of the Genoese fleet and then independently, as shipowners.
