LA PIAZZA DI TRICESIMO
Tricesimo è situato ai piedi delle prime colline moreniche, formate dall’antico ghiacciaio del Tagliamento, ed è posto a 12 km a nord di Udine.
Il nome di Tricesimo testimonia la sua origine romana: ad tricesimum lapidem significa alla trentesima pietra miliare dal porto di Aquileia. Infatti il paese si trova sulla via che da Aquileia portava a Julium Carnicum, oggi Zuglio, e al Norico, via consolare, chiamata via Julia Augusta, sulla quale due località ricordano le antiche stazioni (mansiones), segnate dai miliari: Terzo, a tre miglia romane da Aquileia, e Tricesimo, a trenta.

THE SQUARE OF TRICESIMO
Tricesimo is located at the foot of the first morainic hills, formed by the ancient Tagliamento glacier, and is 12 km north of Udine.
The name Tricesimo testifies to its Roman origins: ad tricesimum lapidem means at the thirtieth milestone from the port of Aquileia. In fact, the town is located on the road that led from Aquileia to Julium Carnicum, today Zuglio, and to Norico, a consular road, called via Julia Augusta, on which two locations recall the ancient stations (mansiones), marked by milestones: Terzo, three Roman miles from Aquileia, and Tricesimo, thirty.
