Qualunque momento dell’anno è propizio per arrivare sull’Isola e scegliere un buon piatto espressione della tradizione della laguna. A Grado la gastronomia è una componente fondamentale dell’offerta turistica, perché è la genuinità del luogo che rende questa destinazione friulana amata e ricercata.
Originariamente, infatti, la sua era una cucina piuttosto povera, visto l’isolamento del borgo e la difficoltà a intrattenere scambi commerciali. Per questo motivo il consumo di carne a Grado era raro, limitato ai pochi animali domestici e all’occasionale caccia degli uccelli migratori che sostavano in laguna; di conseguenza l’alimentazione dei gradesi era quasi totalmente basata sui prodotti che offriva la pesca locale e, in particolare, la pesca lagunare.

Any time of the year is a good time to arrive on the island and choose a good dish expressing the lagoon's tradition. In Grado, gastronomy is a fundamental component of the tourist offer, because it is the authenticity of the place that makes this Friulian destination loved and sought after.
Originally, in fact, his cuisine was rather poor, given the isolation of the village and the difficulty in carrying out commercial exchanges. For this reason the consumption of meat in Grado was rare, limited to the few domestic animals and the occasional hunting of migratory birds that stopped in the lagoon; consequently the diet of the people of Grado was almost entirely based on the products offered by local fishing and, in particular, lagoon fishing.
