IL PALAZZO DEI PRIORI O DEL COMUNE
Il Palazzo dei Priori, o Palazzo del Comune,si può visitare accedendovi da un porticato sito nella centralissima piazza IV Novembre. Il periodo di costruzione del Palazzo va dal 1293 al 1443. Le varie fasi costruttive sono rintracciabili nella facciata. Si tratta di un edificio dalla forma squadrata e dall’ aspetto imponente, aspetti alleggeriti dalle trifore in stile gotico che adornano la facciata più lunga. Il Palazzo, sul lato che dà sulla cattedrale, riprende la facciata di quest’ultima, grazie alle decorazioni del portale, decorato allo stesso modo di quello della cattedrale. Dal Portale il visitatore può accedere alla Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria, che espone i capolavori del Perugino, uno dei massimi esponenti dell’arte umbra.

THE PALACE OF THE PRIORS OR THE MUNICIPALITY
The Palazzo dei Priori, or Palazzo del Comune, can be visited by accessing it from a portico located in the central Piazza IV Novembre. The construction period of the Palace goes from 1293 to 1443. The various construction phases can be traced in the façade. It is a building with a square shape and an imposing appearance, aspects lightened by the three-mullioned windows in Gothic style that adorn the longest façade. The Palace, on the side overlooking the cathedral, takes up the façade of the latter, thanks to the decorations of the portal, decorated in the same way as that of the cathedral. From the Portal the visitor can access the National Gallery of Umbria, which displays the masterpieces of Perugino, one of the greatest exponents of Umbrian art.
