Bere il tè col limone è un’abitudine tutta italiana – un errore per i veri intenditori – che ha poco a che vedere con la tradizione tipicamente inglese di consumare il tè.
In realtà pare che l’aggiunta del limone nel tè comporti una radicale alterazione del gusto originale della bevanda, per cui sarebbe un’abitudine da evitare se si vogliono apprezzare appieno le qualità dell’infuso che stiamo per sorseggiare.
De gustibus non disputandum est, questo è vero. Ma per gustare fino in fondo il tè – soprattutto nelle sue varietà più pregiate – l’infuso andrebbe consumato e degustato senza aggiungere nulla: né limone, né zucchero, né latte (come da tradizione anglosassone).

Drinking tea with lemon is an all-Italian habit - a mistake for true connoisseurs - which has little to do with the typically English tradition of drinking tea.
In reality it seems that the addition of lemon in tea involves a radical alteration of the original taste of the drink, so it would be a habit to avoid if you want to fully appreciate the qualities of the infusion we are about to sip.
De gustibus non disputandum est, this is true. But to fully enjoy tea - especially in its finest varieties - the infusion should be consumed and tasted without adding anything: neither lemon, nor sugar, nor milk (as per Anglo-Saxon tradition).
