Questa romantica piazzetta alberata nel cuore di Parigi non è un luogo qualsiasi ed i palazzi che le fanno da corona sono stati abitati e frequentati dagli artisti degli inizi del novecento.
In una casa che si affaccia sulla piazzetta Renoir nel 1885 vi dipinse Danse à la ville e Danse à la campagne, Pablo Picasso realizzò Les Demoiselles d’Avignon; la casa fu abitata anche da Cézanne, Max Jacob e Apollinaire. In seguito a un incendio nel 1970 l’immobile fu sostituito da una casa per artisti.
Poco prima della piazza, in rue d’Orchampt si trova la villa in cui Dalida visse e dove mise fine ai suoi giorni (è sepolta al cimetière de Montmartre).

This romantic tree-lined square in the heart of Paris is not just any place and the buildings that surround it were inhabited and frequented by artists from the early twentieth century.
In a house overlooking the small square Renoir painted Danse à la ville and Danse à la campagne in 1885, Pablo Picasso created Les Demoiselles d'Avignon; the house was also inhabited by Cézanne, Max Jacob and Apollinaire. Following a fire in 1970, the building was replaced by a house for artists.
Just before the square, in rue d'Orchampt is the villa where Dalida lived and where she put an end to her days (she is buried at the cimetière de Montmartre).
