Le prime notizie dei possedimenti terrieri facenti capo alla "Chiesa di Santa Maria di Loreto" risalgono alla seconda metà del 1300. Da allora lasciti, donazioni, fonda-zioni e acquisti ne hanno via via ampliato la consistenza. La massima estensione si ebbe intorno al 1850, periodo in cui la proprietà era di circa 5.000 ettari, situati soprattutto nelle vicinanze del Santuario, ma con tenute periferiche sparse un po' in tutta l'attuale regione Marche, da Urbino a Cingoli - S. Severino ad Ascoli Piceno. Notevole fu l'importanza di questa grande realtà agricola nel determinare le caratteristiche del paesaggio rurale che osserviamo ancora oggi attorno a Loreto.

SANTA CASA DI LORETO AGRICULTURAL COMPANY
The first news of the land holdings belonging to the "Church of Santa Maria di Loreto" dates back to the second half of the 1300s. Since then bequests, donations, foundations and purchases have gradually expanded its consistency. The maximum extension took place around 1850, a period in which the property was about 5,000 hectares, located above all in the vicinity of the Sanctuary, but with peripheral estates scattered throughout the current Marche region, from Urbino to Cingoli - S. Severino in Ascoli Piceno. The importance of this large agricultural reality was remarkable in determining the characteristics of the rural landscape that we still observe today around Loreto.
