L'INTERNO DI UN CASONE
Da Marano e da Lignano bastano pochi minuti (in barca) per ritrovarsi completamente catapultati in altro mondo, totalmente inaspettato: è quello dei casoni della laguna di Marano, vere e proprie palafitte costruite con materiali naturali quali legno di tamerice, paglia e cannucce palustri, che per anni sono stati i punti d’appoggio dei pescatori durante la pesca.
«D’autunno, quando c’è la stagione dell’anguilla, o in primavera, quando c’è quella delle orate». La maggior parte di queste strutture, infatti, si trova proprio vicino agli sbocchi sul mare, dove ci sono più pesci. In passato, però, quando le barche erano solo a remi, i pescatori non potevano tornare a casa tutte le sere, per cui si fermavano a dormire lì, di solito dal lunedì al sabato. Così i casoni sono diventati i loro rifugi, i loro spazi più intimi, dove trascorrevano anche molti giorni in solitaria.

From Marano and Lignano it takes just a few minutes (by boat) to find yourself completely catapulted into another world, totally unexpected: it is that of the Marano lagoon huts, real stilts built with natural materials such as tamarisk wood, straw and marsh reeds, which for years have been the support points of fishermen during fishing.
"In autumn, when there is the eel season, or in spring, when there is that of the sea bream". Most of these structures, in fact, are located right near the sea outlets, where there are more fish. In the past, however, when the boats were only rowing, the fishermen could not go home every night, so they stopped to sleep there, usually from Monday to Saturday. Thus the casoni became their shelters, their most intimate spaces, where they also spent many days alone.
