Considerata la più bella città della Slovenia costiera, Pirano si è sviluppata sul sale che – ancora oggi – qui viene estratto nelle sue saline secondo l’antico metodo, lo stesso che ha condotto la città portuale ad un florido sviluppo. Circondata dal Mar Adriatico, e sita su di una penisola, Pirano si caratterizza inoltre per le tante scalinate che scendono sino alle spiagge. E poi per la sua vecchia struttura medievale, per le viuzze strette in cui le case sorgono l’una accanto all’altra, per l’influenza di Venezia che si respira in ogni angolo.

Considered to be the most beautiful city in coastal Slovenia, Piran developed on the salt which - even today - is extracted here in its salt marshes according to the ancient method, the same that led the port city to flourishing development. Surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, and located on a peninsula, Piran is also characterized by the many stairways that lead down to the beaches. And then for its old medieval structure, for the narrow alleys where the houses stand next to each other, for the influence of Venice that can be breathed in every corner.
