UDINE. PORTICATO DEL LIPPOMANO
DISCESA DAL CASTELLO
Attraversando l’arco Bollani, costruito nel 1556 su progetto di Andrea Palladio, si prende a salire per il colle del castello. L’ascesa è accompagnata sulla destra dal porticato tardo-quattrocentesco detto del Lippomano, dal nome del luogotenente Tommaso Lippomano che nel 1486 lo fece costruire sui resti della prima cerchia di mura (fine XII secolo).

DESCENT FROM THE CASTLE
Passing through the Bollani arch, built in 1556 and designed by Andrea Palladio, you begin to climb the castle hill. The ascent is accompanied on the right by the late fifteenth-century portico known as Lippomano, from the name of the lieutenant Tommaso Lippomano who in 1486 had it built on the remains of the first circle of walls (late 12th century).
