Forgotten and forlorn.
Sitting on a forgotten back street on the edge of Hanley and Shelton sits Raymond Street and its remaining old housing stock, boarded up and left for dead.
There are a few somewhat newer houses on the opposite side of the street but its not an edifying sight of what has become of the Potteries.
These terraced houses date back to the end of the nineteenth century and would probably have housed workers in the nearby pottery and ancillary factories that proliferated in the area. It sits close to Broad Street and College Road and not far from Bethesda Street, home to many large potbanks, as well as the factories that lined the nearby Caldon canal.
The near building is part of BMS Machining who may be using the first house, there appears to be signs of shelving in the front window.
The slightly porotruding detail around the doors along with the window sills are unusual
