The old Victorian factory constructed for Samuel Moore on Uttoxeter Road in Longton in 1862, St.Mary's Works (St Mary's Mount Pleasant) in the foreground was extended to the left in 1888.
The old potbank has been occupied by various owners, changing hands from Samuel's various forms of family business (Moore and Son and then Moore Bros) to Thomas C. Wild & Sons (Ltd), Allied English Potteries (Royal Albert Ltd) and then Royal Doulton Tableware Ltd.
This piece of Potteries heritage is now grade II listed.
