1. Gutenberg Printing Press

Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press in the Holy Roman Empire in 1440. The invention and spreading of the printing press is widely regarded as the one of the most influential developments in the second millennium AD. The reason for this was that the printing press allowed texts to be printing and distributed en masse, effectively perpetuating ideologies and ideas that invigorated thought and inspired political and social change.
