1950's Rally Race Pinball + Messerschmitt KR200

Pinball, camera, building : all of these can function as machines.

A Pinball machine requires balls and a player

A camera needs light to travel its path and an operator

A building needs people to inhabit and use its systems.

Pachinko, the sister game of pinball, launches balls with an artillery function similar to taking photos with a digitally modified vintage camera.

Both games require the kind of meditation that is like counting cash with a bank teller. So does smoking a cigar.

These machines are part of a lost era that cries out to be re-linked to the present in a manner that sustains and releases its latent charm.

So I'm adding a series of pinball machine designs to my portfolio, starting with this basic design proposal made in the drawing style of Aldo Rossi, whose sketchbook is a dream world I've been living in the last two days on and off.
