Class 501s in store

Class 501 vehicles in store in Wembley yard on 13 October 1986 after these units had been replaced on Euston-Watford Junction services by Class 313 emus.

The 501s were built for service on third-rail routes from Euston, Richmond, Broad Street and Stratford in 1955 and 1956. According to Wikipedia they were withdrawn from service in May 1985, but my recollection is that a few units were kept on longer than this. Perhaps my memory is faulty here?
