The table is set...
My best friend and his amazing girlfriend just got engaged I guess its a week and a half ago now. This friend never does anything subtle, and his proposal was no exception. After proposing, he brought his girlfriend to Cedarmere park in Roslyn, NY (an old preserved property of William Cullen Bryant) where we helped him prepare a surprise private dinner overlooking the water, complete with catering, wine, champagne, and even a musician. The sunset lighting was perfect for both romantic dinner and pictures.
This photo is of the table in its early stages- the others in the set-up group would tinker with it for the next hour, but I liked it at this more simple stage.
The wine is a red called "The Prisoner". As someone else pointed out, that is a bit of an odd choice for an engagement dinner, but it is delicious.
She said yes! And I'm really happy for both of them.
