Shooting in Niagara Falls, New York

EMT's and Fire Fighters assist a shooting victim at 20th and Niagara Street in Niagara Falls, New York. At about 4:30 am on May 30th a gun battle took place which left 2 people shot, 1 with non life threatening wounds the other is currently in critical condition. Multiple witnesses report the shooters used an AK-47, while the victims fired back with a pistol. Police found about 19 rounds from an unidentified assault rifle on scene. And found a pistol multiple blocks away they believe the victims used.

Niagara Falls police are searching for suspects involved in a gun battle on the 1900 block of Niagara Street early Saturday morning which left two people injured — one critically.

Officers were called to Niagara Street about 4:30 a.m. and found the two males wounded. They were both rushed to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. Late Saturday morning one of the males was listed in stable condition while the other was in surgery and is in critical condition.

Both males were shot by a suspect with a large assault-type rifle. Officers said 19 shell casing were found at the scene from the weapon.

The two victims were together, according to a preliminary investigation, and returned fire but it’s not believed they hit anyone. Their weapon, a .45 Colt revolver was recovered.

Falls detectives do have the name of persons of interest and are currently searching for them.
