Nanga Parbat or Dia Mir

Nanga Parbat ( 26,620' or 8116 mtrs high) is the 12th highest peak in the world, and only one of the 14 that are higher than 8000 mtrs. Its ancient name was Diamir, which is an alteration of Deo meaning God and Mir meaning Mountain. Its in the Northern Areas of Pakistan.

 

This picture was taken from Khilanmarg, an alp above Gulmarg, Kashmir, India. The clearest views of this magnificent mountain (in English Naked Mountain) are usually had in November.
