The best road on the Srinagr - Leh Highway then. Now, the tarred road is wide and smooth and well maintained.

 

I am surprised by the excellent quality of these old Kodachrome slides. So many years later and there is no fungus marks even. No sign of deterioration. It is a pity that such a wonderful and useful format has all but vanished.
