Frozen Indus

Five winters ago I had taken this picture in Ladakh between Chumathang and Mahe. I had not seen it till now.

 

A largely frozen Indus swirls its way around a spur. About two decades ago the Indus at this point would be frozen solid from late November till early April. Now it is iced solid for only a month or so.
