A yak caravan

This picture was taken 30 years ago. On the south bank of the Pangong Tso (4262 m) sandwiched between Ladakh and Tibet. This caravan was coming in from Pamzal and over Marsmik La (5548 m). These days there is a tarred road here and about a hundred vehicles a day bringing tourists to this lake that is 64 kms long and about 4 kms wide.
