This picture is remarkable for two reasons:

 

1- The Kodachrome has still got the original colour left.

 

&

 

2- That rock peak (about 21,000 ft high) looks like a hawk taking off.

 

On Chango Glacier in the Zanskar mountains bordering Himac hal Prdesh and Tibet.

 

The right shoulder of that rock peak is a col (saddle) of about 20,000 ft high. It is rather a rough way to Tibet, and yet it was used in the not too distant past by marauders from either side to plunder villages lower down.
