G601NWA brought back to SY by YY52HVH
601 now joins 605 at the SYTT
This is an amazing find as Iain was intouch with first for over 10 years & the vehicle was assumed scrap. Once 605 came, it was seen online and Iain was approached by the previous owner to say 601 indeed survived in Southampton in a private collection
The bus has been part restored and we have been helping the owner with info, we were then approached and offered 601 as they agreed the bus needed to come home.
601 is a extremely important bus not just to SYT, but to other enthusiasts as it’s Volvos first UK B10M with a PS body
With help from the SYTT 601 has been saved and returned home & now joins Lindsey Iain & Chris with 605.
601 will be going as new, the floor has been replaced and all the chassis work has been done, but still loads to do. This also means that 605 can now be restored into Mainline refurb route 52 livery with minimal work.
