Fading Vigil 5/365

This is the last shot of the vigil series, my mother passed away yesterday. These are my sisters looking over my mom knowing her time was very short. She passed away a few hours later. Without getting into all the details, we knew she had only a few days left and I didn't have the heart to disclose that in my postings, waiting for the inevitable moment to do so.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who offered words of encouragements and best wishes, even though I know most of you only through Flickr, they do help. This was my first vigil and I must say that it was a very strong experience. Not only did she know we were there in her last days as we accompanied her on her final journey, but it was very fulfilling for my sisters and me. Very tiring, stressful, but it created a bond and a sense of purpose I have not felt in a very long time. We were there until the end, I'm we are very grateful for that.

A difficult way to start the 365 challenge, and I almost decided not to take part or quit after a few days, but one of the things my mom thought me (us), was never, never quit something you start. Being personal in nature, I tried to keep my vigil theme tasteful and discreet. I will continue and look forward to the next 360 and hope to find some inspiration.
