Arena of Nimes

The Nimes Arena is a roman arena built in 70AD, remarkably well preserved. It is now used for public events, and some bull fighting. Just like the Roman Theatre in Orange, it's pretty amazing that it has lasted that long.

 

This image shows the limitation of only having the Fuji fixed lens when shooting such a big structure. The light more than made up for the lack of wide angle. Better for the eyes and soul in the lightbox. Press L.
