M42 & M43
The image was taken on 28 October 2011 and 23 November 2011 using GRAS 14 (now itelescope.net) in New Mexico. It is a Takahashi FSQ Fluorite telescope with a 106 mm aperture at f/5. It is fitted with a SBIG STL-11000M camera.
There are 6 Luminance images each of 180 seconds, and 4 each of red, green and blue filters also of 180 seconds each. The total exposure is 54 minutes.
The images have been stacked and stretched in Maxim DL and further processed in Photoshop CS3 Extended.
