Church
This church is located on the edge of Little Washington, Virginia. "In July 1749, a 17-year old George Washington noted in his journal, “In the Blue Ridge Mountains . . . I laid off a town.” The young surveyor, assisted by two chain men, laid out the town of Washington in the same five-block by two-block grid that exists today.
The town’s history and architecture has elevated it to the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.
It's very much reminiscent of a quaint English village and it's where Anita and I go to see the architecture, the well laid out gardens and to watch the exceedingly rich stroll about the town. A meal at the Inn of Little Washington would run between $250 and $350.00!! So we just look at the outside. LOL
Another super rainy day but we were blessed not to have had all the rain come in the form of snow. But it did make it hard to get any good photos between the pounding rain and the car windshield wipers. Hoping for better next Sunday.
