40 tooth cog made out of a chainring the second largest one is a 30 this is the maximum jump with the 13 tooth pulleys shown changing the pulley to a 15 will allow a 12 tooth jump and give a bit more clearance between the pully bolt and the spokes. This is also the maximum size the new style megarange derailers will work on. The old style megarange derailers will work on a 48 tooth cog but you will need to use a 36 tooth cog as the next largest size.
