Young Tawny Owl branching

Young Tawny Owl branching in a Devon spring woodland. The young Tawny will wait motionless until dusk when it will become more active and start to call for a feed. Other young owls may have also fledged the nest and will start to call at dusk. Both adults will come in with food for the young and will usually go to the owlet calling the loudest including any young still in the nest. Photo Kevin Keatley, Devon UK. Camera Nikon D800, 300 F4P, F6.3, 1/60 sec., ISO 640. Camera & high speed flash on manual.
