Starling on winter beech
Starling on winter beech down at my Dome hide feeding station. Photo Kevin Keatley, UK, Camera Nikon D800, Lens 200-400@270mm, F11, 1/640 sec., ISO 640. Dome hide, Camera & Lens cover. I picked up the beech branch while out for a walk along the Devon lanes. As soon as I spotted it I knew it would be ideal for my feeding station, all the branches are in the same plane and would be in focus if I positioned it facing & across the front of my hide. The small branches are also nicely spaced and ideal for perching birds with the dry leaves just adding a bit of contrasting colour. I'm always on a project or working on an idea and it's great when it all comes together - Light, setting, subject & timing.
