Helmut Newton photography exhibition review:
You may be disgraced to know that until I saw this exhibition, I was un aware of the beauty that is Helmut Newton. I have always had a crazy uncontrollable interest for nudity and sexual fashion, so it also came as a huge shock to me that his work has never penetrated my mind.
A ravishing exhibition visited in April of 2014 in Berlin, Germany. To be given the opportunity to travel to such an inspirational art filled country in my second year of my fashion course was a gift. Being a lover of sexual art, I was fascinated; The way Newton captures women is astonishing. Seeing a photograph that makes me want to crawl inside it and be in the image, in that moment. As exhibitions go, a beautiful building filled with photographs of beautiful nude women is right up my street. I find sexual images so intriguing, Helmut Newton managed to imprison lust, dominance, desire, and fashion in such a way its irreplaceable. The exhibition represented newton so perfectly, giving you an insight into his life and mind, so artistic but bare. Seeing his passion over every wall in such a great space. The image that captured my heart "self portrait with wife, and models" it beholds everything newton cared for, himself, his work and his beautiful wife. Although gone, Newton is the iconic fashion photographer and I would happily walk round the exhibition again staring at the nude bodies for hours, trying to depict what story it tells.
