All these figure studies are done with blind contour drawing techniques. I realized a long time ago that the only way to really see something as complex as the human figure was to not take my eyes from what I was looking at. Once you pull your eyes away, you are just drawing what you know and not what is there. Adobe Ideas is a great tool for this kind of work. Even though the line has no change in thickness it really defines the qualities that I am most interested in. Once the line work is done the layers are great for adding a nice loose feel to define the lights and darks
