Leyland Atlantean - Alexander AL - XSS344Y (Wider angle)

A slightly wider angle shot than the original upload I had of this vehicle from 2011 which can be seen over here: flic.kr/p/as3n5s

Was taken from quite a distance away, so quality isn't great. Gives a better view of the graphics though.

Two years on, still no sign of this one moving any time soon.

Given the limited role of this vehicle and its age, to be honest I'd be surprised at this point in terms of returning to the road. Most likely next time it moves it'll be its last journey unless it were to fall into the hands of someone wanting to preserve it. Given that it's been converted into a mobile classroom and has at least one currently unknown to me mechanical fault (in addition to having been sitting unmoved for three years and counting), not really sure how attractive an option it would be to anyone. I've never actually been in it to be honest, so don't know how much the interior has been altered. Suppose if there's been power routed throughout etc could be a potential good target for a (large!) mobile home conversion?

EDIT - April 2014. Looks like this bus has now come to the end of the road. It was recently moved to the Grampian Transport Museum and appears to be getting used as a parts donor for the rest of their Atlanteans. Given the fact that it's been extensively altered internally, probably the most sensible course of action - especially given that they've currently got one there which is in good general condition - but is missing a power unit.
