Something new - or more distraction?
I can't decide if making my first handmade journal is a big step forward, or just a distraction from the project at hand: a landscape (scary thought!!!) as the first challenge for Every Day in May.
Last night I was sailing along. I'd decided it was a great idea to make a dedicated EDM journal with papers I wanted to test, offering variety and interesting serendipity. I'd found an empty drawing pad board to use for covers, some lovely fabric, end papers from a Strathmore Art Papers pad. Today, I can finish the book or go work on the landscape along with EDM#2 (my resolution: to practice value sketches). But can I do both? The day is already half gone!
The signature papers: "mystery" parchment with Strathmore 400 Drawing inside; Stonehenge - pale blue; Lanaquarelle 140 lb. hot press; Canson Mi-teintes - orchid - with taupe pastel paper inside; Arches 140 lb. hot press; Lanaquarelle 140 lb. cold press. To be used in reverse order.
