Notifications menu- calendar

View in Large (1024 x 424). So what we have here is the calendar for Yahoo! Answers. Since it's linked with notifications, it shows in the same intuitive pop-up interface, distinguished by its own tab. The current day is indicated by a blue box labelled with 'today', highlighting the date as well just left to it. Underneath it are icons with a number count next to them for 'Best Answers', 'Network adds' and underneath that total points are shown.

On rollover, the box would expand to show even more specific statistics, such as number of questions asked and answers given and in which categories. A filter would be necessary for seeing whatever it is you wish to see.

So it's pretty straightfoward. The days will fill up with info for the month. When a box is clicked it will take you to the notifications for that day ONLY. So the calendar acts a full filter itself to help you keep track of activity!

Another terrific feature built in which I unfortunately haven't included in any of these snapshots is the 'Goals' feature. See the trophy icons? Inside each box on the month grid a trophy displays how many goals have been achieved that day. So what are goals? Simple as this: achievements you wish to make on Yahoo! Answers in the form of numbers (or statistics). These goals can go as far region a year.

To set a goal, the trophy with the 'plus' icon in the left corner must be clicked. A small dialogue box will pop up with some forms to fill out and a Confirm and Cancel button down the bottom. The options available: (A minimum of one must be picked after the time period is chosen)

[Today] <-- Words enclosed in the rectangular brackets are compressed drop-down options

[This week]

[This fortnight]

[This month]

[This next months 3]

[This next 6 months]

[This year]

I want to get

___ points <--Fill in boxes. Of course a filter will be present to make the amount entered realistic

___answers

___best answers

in ________ <-- If you want to earn it in a specific category or several categories, you can do so. It's optional, of course

I want to answer ____ questions in _____ <-- Once again, you are able to select a specific category or several categories. The categories are picked in 'Browse Categories' from the left, which functions instead of a drop-down box in this circumstance. A check box is used to change the function of the 'Browse Categories' tab from a complementing drop-down box-like function to a full sidebar navigational tool/link.

I want to pick _____ best answers <-- Questions of yours still 'In Voting' for a best answer can really build up! You may sometimes need to set yourself a goal to deal with these to give those answerers the points they deserve.

I want to reach level ______ by _______ Sociology. You've answered one. Out of 100%, you've achieved 33% of your goal. Of course this expands and gets more complex in accordance to how many different goals you set, and it can change depending on the filter you've used. "0% today as of yet", and "0% this week as of yet" would show very different statistics if there were goals set.

The percentage system is in fact simple and a good motivator for users ot reach that 100, and aim higher and higher and higher!
