Dun Raghnaill (6)
The 'scarcement' (ledge) that gave rise to the theory that the enceinte was thickened subsequent to its construction, can be vaguely seen in places here, along the far wall. It is more likely to have been associated with a parapet, or for the support of roof timbers. Interpretation is further complicated by the fact that 'sportsmen' have modified the walls in recent times to provide themselves with butts for shooting wild geese.
