Corsbie Castle (6)

Internally, there was a turnpike stair in the near corner of the tower. The curve of the stairwell can be distinguished, as can the stubs of some of the stair treads. The doorway at or near the top of the stair-well leads into a small mural chamber, which has a very small external window and may perhaps have been a garderobe.

There were two vaulted floors within the tower. The ground floor was vaulted, as usual, and the springing of another vault can be seen, starting level with the top of the garderobe door. The two windows in the far wall must have been for a floor above this upper vault, but below parapet level.
