Ayr Citadel (10a)
Ayr Citadel on the headland it once defended, between the river and the sea.
Photographic equipment has advanced in leaps and bounds in recent times. Not so long ago, if you didn't have a DSLR camera, you couldn't take a "proper" photograph! The drive to put better and better cameras in mobile phones has made small digital cameras almost redundant and the future development of DSLR cameras is now threatened by declining sales.
The evidence for all this can be seen here. This photo was taken by my DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone's camera. While the Hasselblad lense is undoubtedly particularly good, the quality and level of detail in this photo, in my opinion anyway, is remarkable. And all the credit goes to the camera, not the photographer. What's more, this is a panorama, originally made up from 21 shots (I reduced it to 15 later), which the camera/drone stitched together itself while it was still flying!
The next photo is a repeat of this one, annotated with the names of some of the more distant features.
