Parting shot

Gylen Castle is these days owned by the "MacDougall of Dunollie Preservation Trust". Although Scotland contains many such buildings, this one is in a particularly fine situation. It is also fairly rare to find a towerhouse of this style on the west coast - west coast castles tending to be more functional than pretty.
