Stair wing and watch-chamber
The stair tower provides access to the three upper floors, each of which consisted of a single apartment measuring 15ft by 14ft. From the top floor of the main block, a small spiral staircase built out over the west side, gave access to the watch chamber, the highest room in the castle and the only room in the stair tower. This caphouse is slightly projected on continuous corbels along its east and west sides and was warmed by its own small fireplace (seen here).
