Balvaird Castle (10)

The castle’s main door, opening from the courtyard into the stair-tower, above which as usual, is an armorial panel. Unusually, there is a second door, opening to the west, outside the courtyard. This is such an obvious defensive weakness that it can be assumed it was a late alteration.
