The north Kintail ridge

It is showing signs of turning into a beautiful day! The cloud is what I think they call ‘disorganised’. If they don’t – I do! There is no cloud base. One glen I passed had a cloud filling it from side to side like a great fluffy glacier. Over here there is a high peak standing tall and clear of cloud in the morning light, but over there the drifting cloud obscures the top of a lower one. You only seem to get random cloud like this in the mornings, never in the afternoons I notice, except maybe after heavy rain? I guess it’s a function of temperatures. There is almost no wind at all. My hopes are up that it might turn into a fine day.

The peaks in the distance are those of the north Glen Shiel ridge, which starts at its west end with the well known ‘Five sisters of Kintail’ – five ridges that climb the north side of the glen, three of them ending in Munros. It’s Munro heaven round here I tell ya!
