The sad state of the building is not enhanced by the besieging army of retired caravans that immediately surround it. The armorial panels (which are in the thing that looks like a window, low down in the re-entrant angle) show where the main door must be, in the angle between the main block and the stair tower, defended as is so often the case, by a machicolated projection directly above, from which missiles and other unpleasantness could be dropped on Jehovah's Witnesses and other unwelcome visitors!
