My eye doctor keeps saying that I should wear glasses, but that is ridiculous, as my eyesight is perfectly good! I only keep these glasses around to humor him. I never wear them...well, hardly ever. ;-)

The method of using selective gaussian blur for shots such as this must by now be a clichéd use of a classic digital processing technique. The eye chart shown here is also a classic. Known as a Snellen chart, it is named after the Dutch ophthalmologist Herman Snellen, who developed the chart in 1862.
