Honoring The Fallen
Today is Memorial Day in the United States, a day to honor military personnel who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. We must never forget their sacrifice.
This image, done for the Macro Mondays "Backlit" theme, is a section of a small U.S flag on a staff that is intended to be handheld, perhaps waved at parades. For this shot, I placed the flag upright in a window sill on a sunny bright day. The folds of the flag make for the layered look, and the window to the sun allows the light to shine through.
