Bufflehead In Flight

I don't recall ever seeing a Bufflehead duck before; in fact, I didn't even know what they were. So I was excited to spot several of them on a lake at Michigan's Kensington Metropark on a recent day. They stayed a long ways away, so not many of my shots were usable...this was one of the best.

Though male Buffleheads such as this one look black and white from a distance, the dark area of their heads show iridescent purples and greens in the sunlight. You can see it here if you look closely on the zoomed-in view.
