Yep, I’m still foolin' around with the trial version of the new Topaz Impression software, one of the latest products designed to transform a digital image into something that looks like a painting. As others have mentioned, the pricing seems a bit steep for what it does, at US$99.99 ($74.99 on special through September). But it's extremely easy to use, offers a range of control, and produces some pretty nice painterly results, in my opinion. I haven’t yet decided whether to purchase it.
Here you see an impressionistic version of some Rudbeckia shot at Chicago Botanic Garden last week. I’m submitting it for the Our Daily Challenge “Fresh” theme, because this software represents a fresh approach to painterly image processing for me.
