Simba Camp
Day 1, or maybe we have progressed to Night 1? The small hut was where the Simba Camp rangers stayed, in some very inviting-looking bunk beds. We had to register here, in a big notebook filled with hundreds of names. No one could really tell me what they use the registry for, since we didn't do it again until we almost reached the top.
As a random aside, 'simba' means lion in Swahili. The rangers patrol at night, and have only seen hyenas in recent months. No lions. Sad.
